Connect Groups

OUR CONNECT GROUPS EXIST BECAUSE HCLC RECOGNISES THE VALUE OF CONNECTION THROUGH DISCIPLESHIP, NURTURING AND ACCOUNTABILITY.
CONNECT GROUPS
ALLOW US TO MAKE FRIENDS, DEVELOP OUR SPIRITUAL GIFTS AND CONNECT WITH OTHERS IN MEANINGFUL WAYS. CONNECT GROUPS ARE MADE UP OF SMALL GROUPS OF PEOPLE MEETING TOGETHER REGULARLY IN INFORMAL ENVIRONMENTS.

THEY’RE A PLACE OF:

DISCIPLESHIP: WHERE TOGETHER WE INCREASINGLY LEARN TO LIVE, LOVE AND LOOK LIKE JESUS. A PLACE TO STUDY GOD’S WORD AND ENCOURAGE EACH OTHER IN KNOWING OUR IDENTITY IN CHRIST.

NURTURING: WHERE WE SINCERELY AND AUTHENTICALLY CARE FOR ONE ANOTHER. WHERE WE CAN BE VULNERABLE AND PRAY TOGETHER.

ACCOUNTABILITY: A SAFE PLACE WHERE TRUST RUNS DEEP AND WE CAN ENCOURAGE AND CHALLENGE ONE ANOTHER TO BE LIVING THE LIFE GOD HAS CALLED US TO.

DON’T MISS OUT ON THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE PART OF A CONNECT GROUP. IT’S AN INTEGRAL PART OF CHURCH LIFE WHERE WE GROW IN OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD AND OTHERS.

CONNECT GROUPS WITHIN HCLC ARE VARIED AND DISTINCT ~ EACH WITH THEIR OWN FLAVOUR AND CHARACTERISTICS. YOU’RE SURE TO FIND ONE THAT SUITS YOUR NEEDS.

Why Pray?

The Bible tells us to ‘pray without ceasing’ (1 Thess. 5:17), ‘praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit’ (Eph. 6:18). Jesus Himself taught ‘that men always ought to pray and not lose heart’ (Lk 18:1). Perhaps, though, we are tempted to skip over the words ‘without ceasing’ and ‘always.’ Surely that’s just impossible anyway, we might think. And yet, it is the plain teaching of God’s Word. Those who trust in Christ are called to ‘pray without ceasing.’

What should you Pray about?

Do you ever find yourself struggling to know what to pray for? You want to make prayer part of your daily routine, but you feel like you are repeating yourself?

Jesus, help me to remember that You love me and that I need You and Your love every day. Thank You that who I am and how You feel about me is based on who You are and Your love for me.

Why Pray Together?

When we pray incredible things begin to happen. We take our problems and battles to a new level when we pray.  So, when your group learns to pray, your community will enter into a new and much more exciting relationship with God and your world.

Why do we meet?

It is important to meet to encourage one another. To assist each other in easy and tough times, to push each other further towards God and our relationships with Him.

What do we talk about?

We get to know each other more and more deeply — sharing our hearts and lives, praying for one another, asking questions, and bearing each other’s burdens. We will be persistent learners of one another and the Word of God.

Why is it important to meet?

Community is deeply grounded in the nature of God. It flows from who God is. Because he is community, he creates community. It is his gift of himself to humans. Therefore, the making of community may not be regarded as an optional decision for Christians.

‘And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.’ - Hebrews 10:24-25

Why do Young Adults meet?

Why do Young Adults meet?

Its important for Young adults to meet together consistently and build each other up as this world becomes harder to live in.

Our Young adults meet together for regular bible studies, and meeting together to join our Sunday service.

How old do you need to be?

Anyone can be a Young adult at heart, but most are around 18-30.

God can still use you, no matter your age – If you still have the ability to read and speak, you can read the Bible to someone who can’t! So if you feel young at heart.. JOIN!

“I have written to you, young men (and women!), because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the wicked one.”- 1 John 2:14.
